Good afternoon, everybody!

I've recently been on the hunt for a proper agent to represent my poetry, and/or the upcoming novel I am writing.  Finding an agent for poetry is, as I'm sure any writer knows, very daunting!  Unfortunately the culture that we now live in doesn't endorse poetry the way we endorse movies, television, music and then of course, other genre books.

The mission of many poets resides in opening the world to poetry once more.  Long gone are the ages of Dickinson, Poe, and Blake.  We're now left with a get-it-now world, where taking a step back is a rare instance for anyone.  Poetry provides a means of making someone step back and think again; to reconsider little things in life as significant as they really are.  With the age of dying poetry readers, we also are stuck with, alas, "poets" who write "poetry".  The standards of poetry are also dying, in lieu of editors, agents, and publishers fleeing to find that one (new) standard that the modern world will cling to.

Without penning poor poetry, the other poets who take it more seriously and wish to replicate the likes of the great poets once before us, are left with more hard work than need be.  More the merrier, right?  What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, and I find that we're more than willing to accept the challenge.  Bonne chance, to my fellow writers!

While recommendations are MORE than welcome if you happen to know of any reputable agent marketing poetry, I do wish to warn the others who're on the search for the agents who seem to hide somewhere in the deep abyss of fear.  WL Poetry Agency is not reputable.  Clever as they might try to be, they will attempt to persuade you even when bringing up the mere facts that are availible to all writers via the internet:  they're scam artists.  So, please do beware of these artists of their own kind.  I don't wish for any dreamy-eyed-writers akin to myself to fall for their traps.  I'll be posting some brilliant guides for writers who make their home at Google for their searching.
